The Framework Series: Product Owner

Maximizing value and minimizing waste – core values that fuel some of the most successful businesses in the world.

Within Scrum, the Product Owner is a scrum development role for a person who represents the business or user community and is responsible for working with the user group to determine what features will be in the product release. The Product Owner is responsible for maximizing the value of the product resulting from the work of the Development Team.

Are you ready to be the leader in maximizing the value of your products and systems? Let us empower you to be the driver of effectiveness for your business within Agile.

What to Expect:

The Framework Series: Product Owner is a two-day course that provides the foundational knowledge needed to work with Scrum teams and the Scrum framework in a practical manner.

This course is a dynamic combination of instruction complemented by individual and team-based exercises.

Using the Scrum principles as a foundation, students are challenged throughout the course to not only become familiar with the process but to better understand what to do and why it is important. Using techniques from Training from the Back of the Room, this course is interactive and experiential. Working individually and as a team, students will participate in discussions and exercises and participate together on real-life cases.

The course covers all the topics that are the basis of Scrum.org’s Professional Scrum Product Owner I (PSPO I), and Professional Scrum Product Owner II (PSPO II)  certification assessments.

Over an intensive two days, students will experience why The Framework Series | Product Owner training is the cutting-edge course for developing results-driven Product Owners. This program is for anyone interacting with a software development team focused on increased efficiency and effectiveness.

Who Should Attend?

The Framework Series | Product Owner course is for anyone interested in understanding the role of the Product Owner and how the Product Owner interacts with Scrum teams and stakeholders. Product Owners will embark from this class introduced to principles, tools, and methods (Lean Startup, Kanban, Lean UX, and XP) that, when paired with the Scrum framework, will allow the Product Owner to take control of the Product Backlog and accelerate the delivery of high value to internal and external customers.  No pre-existing knowledge of Scrum is required to attend.  Our practical demeanor fuels our hands-on approach, as our trainers focus on the unique circumstances from each individual within the group.

“What’s In It For Me?”

Upon the completion of the program, you’ll be ready to become a Product Owner to fuel powerful Scrum Teams with an arsenal of new skills, including:

  • A clear understanding of the rules, roles, and ceremonies of Scrum through the empirical foundation of Scrum

  • An ability to perform as a Product Owner for Scrum Teams and stakeholders

  • A preparation to participate as a member of a scrum team

  • An increased effectiveness to catalyze teams using Scrum

What is Scrum?

Scrum is a framework within which people can address complex adaptive problems while productively and creatively delivering products of the highest possible value.

Scrum itself is a simple framework for effective team collaboration on complex products. Scrum co-creators Ken Schwaber and Jeff Sutherland have written The Scrum Guide to explain Scrum clearly and succinctly. This Guide contains the definition of Scrum. This definition consists of Scrum’s roles, events, artifacts, and the rules that bind them together.

Scrum is:

  • Lightweight

  • Simple to understand

  • Difficult to master
